About Me

I was born in San Antonio, TX in 1979. I grew up an USAF brat, so I moved every three to four years. Between 1979 and 1996, when my father retired, I lived in San Antonio, Austin, Boston, Las Vegas and Northern VA. I was lucky to spend the majority of my school years in Virginia. I went to school there from fifth grade through college. I attended James Madison University from 1998-2002. I earned a bachelor of science in art with a focus in industrial design. Immediately after graduation, I flew out to Seattle to visit my father, who had moved the year before, and I never went back to Virginia. I worked for Philips Sonicare for two years as temp in sales and marketing where I started doing graphic design as their in-house designer. In 2005, I almost joined the USAF but then was offered several jobs at once. I began working for Calypso Medical, a medical device company. At that time, it was a small start-up and their commercial marketing efforts were just ramping up. I initially worked as a marketing coordinator, then as a graphic design specialist. I laid off in August of 2010 and decided to upgrade my skills by going back to school and learning web design. Since my background and passion is for design and all things beautiful, I am looking forward to a new career in web design.

I have a younger brother who lives in Virginia with his family. My mother also resides in the same area as my brother. I have a 6.5 year old cat named Loqui whom I absolutely adore. I have had him since he was a wee kitten. I love to write, draw, paint and design. I started snowboarding when I was 18 years old but have not done it a few years. I'm addicted to FoxNews, HGTV, and NatGeo. I rarely watch anything else other than movies.
